Dear Prime Minister Mitchell,

I wish to voice my support for the release of The Grenada 17. They have been in prison since 1983 and the time for their release is overdue.

The new millennium ought to be an opportunity for nations to move forward, yet how can Grenada do so when it still has political prisoners - more than half of the members of a former government in prison? I would encourage your government to take the noble decision of releasing The 17.
